I used to only take photos, but now I'm writing down the random stuff that pops in my head. Mostly it's stuff about living and working in Boston/Cambridge.

Cupping
I didn't get outside during the work day yesterday, so as soon as Phil and I got home I took off for a walk on the nature trail on the edge of our apartment complex. I was treated to a symphony of birds and many beautiful buds and blossoms. I took many photos, and this was one of my favorites. I know the middle is out of focus, but I just love the detail of the delicate leaves.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone! :-)

Mother and Daughter
"A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts."

A Fan of Manny
Manny is one of the security officers where I work, but he's much more than that to me -- he is a great friend as well.
At my old job he worked in the lobby of the building I was in at the time. Around the time I got my new job a month ago, he was promoted and moved to the building where I work now. :-)

Pink street
A small street near where my husband and I park for work has these beautiful (cherry?) trees that I enjoy seeing every spring. When the blossoms all fall off the whole street is covered with pink petals.

Mirror image
Here is another view of the John Hancock tower from my walk on Tuesday at lunch. There are so many photographs out there of Trinity Church reflecting in this building, so it's not really that original. I was happy how it came out nonetheless.
It's Friday and I'm having lunch today with two wonderful women that I haven't seen in a long time. I'm hoping that they'll let me take their picture.
Have a great weekend! :-)

Buildings in a building
I spent most of my lunch hour yesterday taking pictures around Copley Square. Here's a shot of the bottom of the John Hancock building, where several other buildings can be seen reflecting onto it.

Green miracle
"People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don't even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child -- our own two eyes. All is a miracle."

Pink and Gold
Here is another view of Lake Nippenicket ("The Nip") in Bridgewater. I got these shots along the side of a busy road. I parked in a little lot marked "park at your own risk", crossed the street when it was safe to do so, and pointed the camera through a chain-link fence. This one came out crooked, so I had to do some fixing in Photo-shop.

Sunday Sunshine
"Perhaps it will seem to you that the sunshine is brighter and that everything has a new charm. At least, I believe this is always the result of a deep love, and it is a beautiful thing. And I believe people who think love prevents one from thinking clearly are wrong; for then one thinks very clearly and is more active than before. And love is something eternal--the aspect may change, but not the essence. There is the same difference in a person before and after he is in love as there is in an unlighted lamp and one that is burning. The lamp was there and it was a good lamp, but now it is shedding light too, and that is its real function. And love makes one calmer about many things, and in that way, one is more fit for one's work."

One Hundred and One
I was thrilled to look up to see this fast-moving flock of Canada Geese while I had my camera in hand! I spotted them as I was walking back to my apartment early Friday evening. There were even more geese than is shown in this photo, but there are 101 visible here if you care to count. :-)
