There's a rather nice nature trail behind our apartment complex, and I had been there a couple of weeks before I got my camera. I had seen some good photo opportunities, so I decided to go there again after I acquired the camera. Luckily, now that summer is over one is able to get around this tree, and on my first visit to the spot I found myself surrounded by golden-crowned kinglets (birds), which I had never seen before. Unfortunately they didn't visit me again once I had the camera.
Happy New Year, everyone!
I used to only take photos, but now I'm writing down the random stuff that pops in my head. Mostly it's stuff about living and working in Boston/Cambridge.

Not orange juice
I received a juice machine as an early Christmas gift (along with my camera!), and have enjoyed using it. Just as I was about to drink this juice made with 2 carrots, a granny smith apple, and some fresh ginger I decided to take its picture. It tasted better than it looks!

Saint Cecilia
This beautiful statue is Saint Cecilia, the patron saint of music. This is outside of her church in Boston, which isn't far from where I work.
I have fond memories of singing in this church while my husband and I were students at The Boston Conservatory.

Kalimba
Here's another instrument for today ~~ the Kalimba, also known as an African thumb piano. I have fond memories of playing this while my former pet Quaker Parrot, Scooter would sit on my arm happily bobbing his head to the beat.

Holiday Yuke
I received this ukulele yesterday as a Christmas gift from my sister. I can't wait to learn how to play it! Thanks, sis!

Peace Like a River
Thanks so much for all of the kind words on my first post last night!
Here's one I took last weekend at the war memorial park, which I used to go to often to meditate. I just love listening to the sounds a river makes.
I hope everyone had a peaceful holiday. :-)

Pretty Poinsettia
This was my Mother-in-law's poinsetta, which I took a picture of today while visiting.
Merry Christmas! :-)
