I used to only take photos, but now I'm writing down the random stuff that pops in my head. Mostly it's stuff about living and working in Boston/Cambridge.

Kind thoughts are the roots,
Kind words are the flowers,
Kind deeds are the fruits,

And keep out the weeds,
Fill it with sunshine

Life is the wind and the rain and the thunder in the sky.
Life is matter and is earth, what is and what is not, and what beyond is in eternity."

Spirit of Summer
"I am a spirit of no common rate:
The summer still doth tend upon my state;
And I do love thee. Therefore go with me.
I'll give thee fairies to attend on thee,
And they shall fetch thee jewels from the deep,
And sing while on pressed flowers dost sleep."
-William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night's Dream

Red Squirrel
This cute critter was found at the AMC visitor's center at Pinkham Notch last week. He was so tame that I was able to get up close to take this shot while he happily munched on some lettuce given to him by one of the hikers.

Pequawket Pond
Here is the beautiful pond behind the house that we rented for the week in Conway, New Hampshire. South Moat Mountain is visible to the right in the background. Yesterday morning we heard a loon calling from the pond and looked out to see it about a hundred yards away. Since then I believe the loon is my favorite water bird.

White Mountains -- up on Mt. Eisenhower
My husband and I had a wonderful time on our vacation this past week in the beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire. Thursday we hiked Mt. Eisenhower, which is the 11th highest of the forty-eight "4,000 footers" in the area. Here is one view from near the top.
